VSGPRO was founded because today’s athletes have more complexity and responsibility than at any other time in sports, as opportunities and financial compensation are growing rapidly and begin earlier.

This is a new era for athletes and requires a new era of representation that supports this professional mindset.

A DREAM AND A DECISION

Winston Venable’s journey to success began with a dream of playing big-time college football, motivated by the athletic achievements of his father, a 12-year MLB player, and his brother, a two-sport athlete at Princeton. But the path wasn’t easy. In high school, Winston faced challenges that could have derailed his ambitions.

Realizing the need for a change, Winston made the life-altering decision to leave California and attend St. Thomas More in Connecticut, a preparatory school that gave him the discipline, structure, and focus he needed. It was there that Winston learned about sacrifice, hard work, and what it takes to succeed—not just in athletics, but in life.

FINDING HOME AT BOISE STATE

After a setback in his senior year of high school due to injury, Winston’s road to college wasn’t as straightforward as he’d imagined. He turned down scholarship offers that didn’t align with his vision and chose instead to attend Glendale Community College, where he could continue to chase his dream on his own terms.

After two years of hard work, the dream came true. Winston earned a scholarship to Boise State University, where he found not just a team, but a family. As a mid-year junior college transfer, Winston quickly became a vocal leader, embracing his role and earning the respect of his teammates and coaches. The city of Boise embraced him as well, showing their support for a player who gave his all on and off the field. Winston’s time at Boise State was transformative, and it remains a pivotal chapter in his life.

PROFESSIONAL ATHLETE

Winston’s next dream—to play professional football—came true when he signed with the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent. His physical style of play and relentless effort earned him a spot on the 53-man roster, where he contributed as a core special teams player alongside NFL greats like Devin Hester and Brian Urlacher.

Though his time in the NFL lasted just one season, Winston’s professional career thrived in the Canadian Football League (CFL). With the Montreal Alouettes, he played five standout seasons, earning CFL All-Star honors and cementing his reputation as a high-impact player known for his toughness and leadership.
